Capt. Robert D. Baldwin February 5, 1925 - December 10, 2012 Pennant No. 11828 and Barbara C. Baldwin July 31, 1925 - December 5, 2012 Lodge member Bob Baldwin passed away on
Monday, December 10, 2012, just five days after
the passing of his wife Barbara, who passed away
on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Both 87
years of age, they had been married for 67
years.

by clicking HERE.The Baldwins made their home in Berkley, Michigan for 40 years before moving to Harsens Island in the early 1990's. Captain Baldwin was a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY and served aboard merchant vessels during World War II. Following the war, he worked as a heating consultant for Detroit Edison for more than 40 years. Bob joined Detroit Lodge No. 7 on December 13, 1999 and served as Lodge President in 2003. In addition to ISMA, Bob was also a member of the American Merchant Marine Veterans Association. Barbara worked as an eye technician at the Oakland County Health Department for many years. She was also involved with St. Paul's Church on Harsens Island. They were preceded in death by their son, Robert F. Baldwin; and daughter, Nancy Baldwin. A daughter, Janet S. Persinger, survives. The family will have a joint memorial visitation on Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 2 PM until the time of the memorial service 3 PM at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Rd. Berkley (2 Blocks West of Woodward Ave). Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, the American Diabetes Association, and/or the American Cancer Society.
