| The last winter meeting
of Detroit Lodge No. 7 was held at Mariners' Church on
Tuesday, April 16, 2019. The lodge invited members of the USACE to address the lodge. Meteorologist Deanna Apps gave a presentation on water levels for the Great Lakes and how weather patterns, rainfall, snow melt and ice coverage impact the levels. Melissa Kropfreiter, a Hydraulic Engineer for Sector Detroit USACE, spoke to the lodge about dredging priorities for the Great Lakes and the Ohio River Valley, and budgetary constraints that affect the decision making process. The speakers were presented with Certificates of Appreciation by the lodge's program chairman Rick Scott. During the lodge's business meeting, the Rector of Mariners' Church, Fr. Jeffrey Hubbard, was initiated as an associate member of the lodge. |
